  • Completed class hours and necessary requirements through Downtown Yoga Center Johnson City to receive membership and credentials from Yoga Alliance.

  • Completed training requirements and certified through Passion for Birth with Lamaze International becoming a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator.

  • Designed, organized, and implemented public affairs programming for WMMT
  • Served in capacity as a reporter, producer, show host, director of content, and media liaison.
  • Created original content through recording, writing, and production stages.
  • Wrote proposals/grants and effectively utilized funds with grant reporting.
  • Maintained and wrote original content for the WMMT.org website.

February 2010 – 2014 – Founder of Birth True Childbirth Education                    
Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, Birth Doula, Sacred Birth Counselor and Prenatal Yoga Instructor
  • Founded Birth True Childbirth Education March 2010
  • Built internet and social media advertising campaign for Birth True Childbirth Education
  • Designs a Lamaze Childbirth Preparation curriculum and various workshop classes for use with Birth True
  • Conducts Lamaze classes and workshops in private homes, area hospitals, and various community organizations such as Appalachian Regional Hospitals, Letcher Co. Breastfeeding Support Group, and HANDS.
  • Attends births in the region as a birth doula (trained labor support professional).

  • Organizing for the public dissemination of materials and media created in conjunction with the East Kentucky Reproductive Health Project through facilitated media viewings and discussions, informational handouts, and social networking/internet campaign including website content management, blogs, and maintenance of social media sites such as Facebook.
  • Organizer and facilitator of discussion of media created through the East Kentucky Reproductive Health Project.
  • Researching and compiling available reproductive health resources within the east Kentucky region for distribution and easy public access.
  • Researching and listing the latest area and national new concerning reproductive health issues, resources, and concerns via online outlets such as EKRHP website/blog and Facebook page.

  • Created and carried out lessons appropriate for Kentucky State requirements for Language Arts and Social Studies 7th and 8th grade classrooms, including the gifted program and special needs education.
